Blake Composes Over a Piano

  Information
  • "A Heaven There for Me" is a setting of a text by Emily Dickinson for SSA voices with piano accompaniment. This has been a request of conductors for the past few years and I'm delighted to finally have found the perfect text for the project!

  • "Journey this Road" sets an original translation of a text by Argentinean poet Elena Ramón. The piece showcases a new style of writing for me that highlights, above all else, beauty to be found in great simplicity. Because "Journey this Road" employs such a subtle harmonic vocabulary, I'm excited to see how it fairs in the world where music comes to life.

  • "Little Lamb," a piece for SATB a cappella choir (with divisi) was a gift to James Jordan and Westminster Schola Cantorum. The work will be premiered at Westminster Choir College's Readings and Carols performances at the Princeton University Chapel in December. "Little Lamb" will be published by GIA.

  • "Silent Noon," a choral arrangement of a song by Ralph Vaughan Williams will be premiered by J.D. Burnett and the San Jose State Concert Choir in the Spring of 2008.
